enFirefox command-line

Today browsers have web developer tools in addition to web browsing features. So Firefox has various tools to design, edit, run and debug web and Java codes. “Developer Toolbar” is one of these tools which can be useful for others than developers as well.

In previous posts we read about some features which were available with editing Firefox advanced preferences in about:config. Using this toolbar, one can make the customization even without opening the config page.

Selecting from Tools > Web Developer, or simply pressing the shortcut keys Shift+F2, Developer Toolbar appears at the bottom of window. Entering a specific command with the variable and its value, it’s possible to set a custom config; for example, to change the value of plugins.click_to_play to true:

pref set plugins.click_to_play true

Of course typing part of the name, all variables having that part will appear among which you can choose.
